Memphis, Tennessee isn't exactly a hotbed of post-rock talent, but Glorie bucks the trend in quite spectacular fashion. Their predominantly string and key-led sound has an impressive sense of urgency which is reflected in the comparatively short running times of their tracks, particularly evident in their latest release. A consistently impressive collective, well-worth checking out - for those who absolutely require a starting point, try Run Away from Falling.

The Ten Most Overrated Bands/Musicians...For me, anyway. By that I mean, "Having listened to these bands, I honestly don't get why so many people think they're great." 
10: 50's/60's jazz as a genre. (OK, I'm cheating a bit, but still. Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Coltrane, Charlie Parker-just don't get it. It doesn't do anything for me. I kinda wish it did.)

Area 11-How They Met (fan-fic)part 1Sparkles was sitting in a park in Nottingham, admiring the weather, which was unusually nice. He was thinking about how one of his favorite animes had just released a new episode. Pulling out his iPad and earbuds, he searched for the episode: "Code Geas episode 22- 'Blood Stained Euphy'".
   Suddenly, he got a great idea for a new song. Pulling out a pad of paper and a pen, he started writing lyrics as they came into his head. After several minutes of editing and rewriting, Sparkles started to write down music notes, thinking the tune as he went.
   Then he thought of something. He still needed to find someone to play guitar and bass. Sparkles made a mental note to schedule auditions and packed up his things.
   On the way back to his apartment, he heard someone playing a guitar. Walking towards the noise, two guys were sitting on a park bench, one playing the guitar and the other listening and relaxing. Sparkles overheard a snippet of conversation.
